The young DJ Afro Nizzy has been detained since Saturday at the 7th Police Station in Maputo City, accused of inciting public disobedience through live broadcasts of the post-election demonstrations in Maputo City.

Information we have had access to indicates that the young man went to the police station as a victim to report a robbery he had suffered. However, when the police officers recognized DJ Afro Nizzy, they took advantage of the situation to arrest him.

"Good, we've been looking for you/we've wanted you for a long time," the policemen would have said.

Among several recordings, last year Afro Nizzy captured the exact moment when an armored police car of the Republic of Mozambique ran over a young demonstrator on Eduardo Mondlane Avenue in Maputo city.

Also in Ressano Garcia, while covering the funeral of the young "Mano Shottas" killed by the police, Afro Nizzy captured images of the police shooting at the family, friends and people returning from the funeral ceremony. That day, several people were killed by the police.

For the time being, DJ Afro Nizzy's case is already being handled by lawyers.
